After conducting some research for our event idea, the concept for Big City Little Plant came about from an established group that call themselves aMoments. The group is known around the globe for inspiring feel good discoveries that take place in public spaces. Our group decided to run a similarly themed, feel good event with a sustainable theme that could be targeted to a reachable audience.

We decided that our event would comprise of the group sourcing, recycling and crafting around 100 tins and jars that we would then turn into ecological, zany pot plants. We would then place the pot plants at locations around the CBD and inner city suburbs for people to discover and engage with the initiative.

The core message behind the event was to encourage green living in urban spaces and the gentrified areas, as research has proven that having a plant in your office or home may assist in one’s creativity and productivity.
